The title says it all! In China, phone sellers are letting people preorder iPhone 5 for as little as a $160 deposit!
While Apple refuses to let out any details about the iPhone 5 at this stage, there are countless rumors circulating the internet regarding the possible features of the iPhone 5. From a 4-inch screen to support for 4G LTE, these rumors have covered all aspects of the smartphone. But the latest development in the iPhone 5 case is the most shocking yet: Chinese phone sellers are letting people preorder iPhone 5!

Yes! Taobao Marketplace is China’s largest e-commerce platform. And they are accepting preorders for the iPhone 5. Reportedly, orders are being placed for as little as 1,000 Yuan whereas people who want to ensure that they will get their hands on an iPhone 5 are paying the full amount of 7,000 Yuan; in US Dollars, those amounts are approximately $160 and $1000 respectively.
Perhaps this preordering is illegitimate. But the fact that the new iPhone will be available in the US and in Hong Kong, it just might be that this preordering is valid.
Reuters reported one seller saying, ““Demand is high. Yesterday someone just bought two phones. Altogether we have about two dozen orders.”
It is being reported that hard cases and accessories for iPhone 5 are also being sold. Reportedly, the size of the cases is accurate and they have been confirmed by inside sources.
